Tokenization of Private Equity Funds in Switzerland
A Financial Market and Contractual Law Assessment of the Limited Qualified Investor Fund structured as Limited Partnership for Collective Investment
von Lars Fischer, herausgegeben von Thomas Sutter-SommNowadays, due to minimum investment amounts, holding periods and/or liquidity issues, retail investors have little possibility to participate in private equity funds. This book proposes two blockchain-based solutions on how retail investors could participate in private equity funds and hence, overcome these hurdles. Since target companies rely on fiat money, the two solutions combine the blockchain world with the “real” world, while simultaneously optimizing the opportunities and mitigating the risks of both worlds. For this purpose, the author outlines an Indirect and Direct Method of tokenization of an L-QIF structured as Limited Partnership for Collective Investment, showing fund managers two options on how to find more investors while satisfying existing investors - even if they are blockchain skeptics!
