BZ '18 - '45
one monument, one city, two dictatorships
A permanent exhibition within the Monument to Victory.
This book is about BZ '18 - '45. One Monument, one City, two dictatorships.
An exhibition at the Monument to Victory, Bozen-Bolzano, which was first opened to the public in July 2014. It is a companion to the exhibition, telling the story of Marcello Piacentini's much-debated Monument, erected by the Fascist Regime between the First and Second World Wars, both national and global, showing how they impacted locally on everyday lives. There are illustrations of the sometimes difficult social Relations, arising from such an uncomfortable territorial legacy. It also shows how this legacy has been a pert of the ever-changing social and political life; since the second-half of the twentieth century, right up today.
