Today I want to tell you how the virus epidemic has affected me and my art. If you thought that this event did not affect my work, then this is a mistake.
I have to say I felt the virus coming very earlier. Switzerland wasn‘t infected at that time. But the disease was already clearly approaching its borders.
It was then that I decided to keep a kind of diary and document my feelings and thoughts in paintings. Perhaps it was because I came from Leningrad, and we grew up on the famous diaries of the blockaded city.
At that time, I just wanted to be honest and to capture what was happening in the paintings. Besides, it was not clear at that time how long the epidemic would last and what consequences it would have on us. I just wanted to reflect on everyday feelings and do it honestly.
But I couldn‘t do it every day. At the moment, there are 17 works in the Documentary Paintings Collection.
