Der bessere Nachbar?

This study explores the Polish image of Prussia in the second half of the 18th century, a period marked by the division of Poland and Lithuania and the loss of national independence, while at the same time, the apex of the Polish enlightenment. The author questions the prevalent notion of a strong negative image of Prussia in Poland and reveals forms of reciprocal cultural transfer and political relations.
