Sheila Toledo Ribes has a degree in Fine Arts from the University Politécnica in Valencia. She has successfully completed two masters, one in Valencia and the other one in Germany in the field of Glass Arts at the IKKG University.
She is currently doing her doctoral research work for her dissertation on art and psychose.
She has worked in art and psychiatric institutions in Germany and Spain. Sheila Toledo Ribes exhibited in various museums and institutions in Europe, the United States, Cuba and South America.
Her work takes us into the narcissism and psychosis that our present society is suffering. The high level of stress that the world society imposes on us, leads to a situation that gets more and more pathological, causing anxiety problems, depression and loss of self. But our psyche is constantly flooded, creating phobias and insecurity. A high-speed train whose fruit comes from a raging consumerist delirium. All countries look at themselves in the American mirror, therefore we live in the division of labor of an insect society.
The foundation of Sheila Toledo Ribes‘ artistic work is based on how the worldwide media impact is destroying us. On the one hand it alludes to narcissism as a social impact and on the other to collective psychosis as a behavior of the consciousness of our glass society.
