This volume on computer networks adopts a balanced approach between technology and mathematical modeling. It covers such important topics as switching elements and fabrics, Ethernet, and ALOHA design. It also includes a wide variety of queueing models, routing, protocol verification and error codes and a new type of modeling called divisible load theory that has applications to grids and parallel and distributed processing.
