
The catalogue Ulrike Umlauf-Orrom – Glass Colour Structure offers a comprehensive overview of the artist's glass works from her three work phases – free-blown vessels, sand-cast objects and objects in fusing technique.
Illustrated with over 250 colour photographs, the catalogue traces the development of her glass works from the beginnings in 1982 to the present day. The pictures are accompanied by essays and articles about the artist, as well as photographs of important inspirations for her work. The objects of Ulrike Umlauf-Orrom are part of international exhibitions as well as numerous public and private collections. For her work she received renowned awards and prizes, such as the Bavarian State Prize 2001 or the GEDOK FormART Prize 2005. A special honour and recognition of her „Japanese“ aesthetics is for her the meanwhile 5th invitation to the International Kanazawa Glass Prize in Japan, which is awarded every three years.
