Jasmine Them Schmid
Jasmine Them Schmid, grew up in a multicultural artistic family and discovered her love of pain- ting at the age of fteen. Her pictures reflect the fascination of color in itself. She loves simplicity, and applying layers that overlap and accompany each other in a subtle way. The layers represent the past and the present, they are found again and again. In this way, she creates dimension and depth in her work in which infinity is reflected.
She uses her movements, with the help of acrylic paints, brushes, spatula, pencil and paste, gi- ving her creation life, in order to harmoniously interrupt the static state. Jasmine uses lines where you can always find circles, here too, she is fascinated by infinity where there is no beginning or end. The final touch is a dot. Jasmine is inviting you to move and view the paintings from different perspectives, it depends how the lights plays with the picture, it changes, it lives. Jas- mine likes to breathe life into her work. She gives a form to each piece and this has a personal significance. It is important to her that the process never stops with her as Jasmine likes to invite the viewer to immerse themselves, to look for, find their sensation and to lose oneself.
