Bacon und Kant

Anyone interested in establishing an intellectual connection between Kant and Bacon must first ask the question as to what similarity could exist between Kant, who carried out a transcendental turn in philosophy, and Bacon, the “generalof empirical philosophy.” Only through such considerations can one understand why Kant’s first Critique announces a new epoch in philosophy with a passage from, ofall things, Bacon’s Instauratio Magna.
