This dissertation investigates the decision making in the Venture Capital (VC) and Private Equity (PE) industry – with a behavioral and experimental approach to examine the VC decision accuracy and behavior towards risk under the PE compensation scheme. The first project investigates the influence of a changing risk on the effort choice under the premise of the PE compensation scheme. The second and third project explores the VC decision accuracy using longitudinal archival data.
