The Litany of Childhood

Too much of us is evident in the merciless orbit of the hour hand. Sometimes we suffer too much reality in the space of a single second. Sometimes shadows circle the clock-face like bad weather. My book, dim sketches of my past, they know what I was, they know what I became, recognize me!“
We meet Tallulah the Wanderer, bender of time and memories, and see her childhood days through fractured lenses, scattered snippets of the past in a place where she never belonged. Eudaemonia, Maine, a small town by the sea in the shadow of the Northern Woods. Where the spirit of a young girl haunts the underwood. We meet Alisha, inconspicuous and innocent until her abuse on the frontseat of a car. We take part in her downfall, a slow and inevitable demise past drugs and promiscuity to a bitter end under the crippled branches of Northern Woods.
