There has long been a need for a journal like this.” Carl Fingerhuth The first issue of the international professional journal, trade journal „’scape” coincides with the Fourth European Biennale of Landscape Architecture in Barcelona and the awarding of the Rosa Barba European Award for Landscape Architecture in March 2006. This issue looks closely and critically at the projects submitted for the Rosa Barba Landscape Architecture Award, profiles the organizers of the Biennale, and describes important developments in Catalan landscape architecture and town planning. Biennale für Europäische Landschaftsarchitektur in Barcelona und der Verleihung des europäischen Rosa-Barba-Landschaftsarchitektur-Preises im März 2006 erscheint die erste Ausgabe der internationalen Fachzeitschrift «’scape». Diese Ausgabe nimmt die zum Rosa-Barba-Landschaftsarchitektur-Preis eingereichten Projekte kritisch unter die Lupe, porträtiert die Macher der Biennale und stellt wichtige Entwicklungen in der katalanischen Landschaftsarchitektur und im Städtebau vor. Die folgenden Ausgaben von «’scape» orientieren sich jeweils an einem Hauptthema und veröffentlichen dazu jeweils vier Porträts von Projekten und Persönlichkeiten internationaler Bedeutung, drei Kritiken fachkundiger Autoren sowie wichtige Informationen aus weiteren Rubriken zu Landschaftsarchitektur und Städtebau.
