MAPS is a collection of Mathematica® computer programs designed to solve physical and engineering tasks in acoustics. MAPS is based on the book „Schallabsorber“, (3 volumes).
The aim of the book is to develop and describe analytical methods for the solution of tasks of acoustic engineering in the field of noise control. MAPS is a collection of computer programs used for the book and of programs specially written for MAPS. The topics in MAPS are arranged in the same order as in the book, but the book is not a prerequisite for using MAPS.
The „computing machine“ needed in the background of MAPS is Mathematica®, either in Version 2 or in one of the Versions 3 or 4. MAPS is available for Apple Macintosh or Windows operating systems.
