An Exploratory Case Disquisition: Nucor Corporation Strategic Factor Analysis and Lever

The purpose of this case study is to address the strategic analysis, strengths and weaknesses
and directions of Nuclear Corporation (Nucor) in the American steel industry. It will also
evaluate the alternative strategies and possible recommendations to the problems posed. This
will also entail a set of action programs that will align with the strategies and objectives. Nucor
was among the first steel companies in the United States to use electric arc furnaces to melt
recycled steel (primarily from junked automobiles).
