Proceedings of MATHED Intensive Programmes 2004 and 2005
von Brian Hudson und Josef FragnerThis is the second volume of papers arising from the MATHED Intensive Programmes Re-searching the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics within the EUDORA (European Doc-torate of Teaching and Teacher Education) Programme. These papers arise from seminars and workshops that took place during the summers of 2004 and 2005. The second MATHED Intensive Programme was held in the Tolmin valley in Slovenia from 11th to 22nd August 2004, hosted by the University of Ljubljana. The third event was held in Vijlandi in Estonia from 3rd to 13th July 2005, hosted by Tallinn University.
The intensive programmes enabled participants to examine issues of policy and practice relevant to their work in mathematics education within an international context. The pro-grammes aimed to enable participants to develop a critical focus on the nature of research into the teaching and learning of mathematics in an international context and to develop theo-retical approaches and methods appropriate to comparative research.
