The Danube Academies Conference is a new project of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, bringing together all national Academies of the Danube region and focusing on the development in the Danube area. This idea is supported by the European Commission and Commissioner Johannes Hahn, who wants to see an additional drive for a fostering act in the whole Danube area.
The first Danube Academies Conference took place in Vienna in 2011. In March 2012 the second meeting was held in Bratislava. Budapest was hosting the third Danube Academies Conference in September 2012, with the specific aim to develop a structure which demonstrates a vibrant spark for future meetings.
The whole Danube area is an important upcoming area with a fantastic impact on Europe. It is an enormous future area from the Black Forest to the Black Sea.
