This project management handbook is designed for beginners in project management, as well as for people wanting to refresh their project management knowledge and/or extend their practical project management know-how in the Fabasoft environment. By using a direct and lively style, important factors are presented, that are decisive for developing projects successfully in the areas of e-government and customer relationship management. The main focus is on concise presentation of key facts supplemented with practical examples rather than a theoretical analysis of project management and methods. More than 80 figures with many practical templates for the various methods, checklists and protocols clarify the practice orientation of this book. The book is divided into three sections:
The first part highlights the significance of projects and Fabasoft's competence in project management. This reflects the project-orientation of Fabasoft overall as well the training and qualification opportunities at the Fabasoft Academy for project managers. The body of the book deals with theory and the implementation of project management at Fabasoft. Apart from looking at the project start and planning phases, the book also covers project communication, project coordination, project controlling, and the often neglected project closure phase. A large part is dedicated to the challenges of change management. Alongside theoretical principles, practical forms and templates, references are repeatedly made to the real project world with a selection of short examples. The final part contains a series of actual case studies from the Fabasoft environment. Various types of projects are investigated such as ELAK reference system projects, migration projects or upgrade projects.
