A Contribution to the Understanding of the Addiction Phenomenon

Opioid addiction is a complex illness, and a serious life threatening dilemma. This book reflects concepts, theories and approaches in the study of the addiction phenomenon. It presents results and investigations considering drug-related problems from the patients’ point of view, and discusses the impact of newly developed agents for opioid dependence. In a further step it addresses research issues on assessing Quality of Life in opioid addicted patients.
