Festschrift in Honor of Isidore Dyen
herausgegeben von Bernd Nothofer und weiterenThis book honors Isidore Dyen, emeritus professor at Yale University and one of the foremost scholars of Austronesian linguistics who dedicated most of his research to the Austronesian languages. As is indicated by the title of this Festschrift and the chapters within, Dyen has concentrated his research on three subfields of linguistics: reconstruction, classification and description.
With this book eleven leading linguists, Dyen's colleagues, students and younger scholars, all of whom he inspired by putting forth challenging new hypotheses regarding the structure of Proto-Austronesian and the degree of relationship among the members of this large language family, contributed to this Festschrift. The book presents some of the very latest findings in the field of Austronesian linguistics.
Contributors: Waruno Mahdi, John U. Wolff, David Zorc, Bernd Nothofer, Andrew Pawley, Malcolm Ross, K. A. Adelaar, Byron Bender, Paul Jen-kuei Li, Shigeru Tsuchida, E. M. Uhlenbeck.
