Standard DWA-A 118E Hydraulic Dimensioning and Verification of Drainage Systems

This DWA Standard concerns the dimensioning and verification of drain and sewer systems, which are mainly operated as gravity systems and which serve for the discharge of domestic and industrial wastewater, surface water and combined wastewater. It contains guidance for determining the quantities of wastewater to be discharged, taking into account both the replanning and the recalculation of existing systems. The appendix includes helpful examples which present in detail the difficulties involved in determining the precipitation runoff on which the dimensioning is based. The validity range of the Standard extends in accordance with DIN EN 752 from the point where the wastewater leaves the building or roof drainage system or flows into a road drain inlet to the point where the wastewater is discharged into a treatment plant or receiving waters. It is primarily aimed at planning engineers and authorities.
