Microresonators are a suitable tool to control the optical proper-ties of embedded quantum emitters. For a systematic control of these properties, it is important to know the exact orientation and position of the quantum emitters in the microresonator. A new method is presented in this volume which could be used to determine these parameters. The quantum emitters are exci-ted with specially polarized laser beams and the ? uorescence is collected using a confocal microscope. The three-dimensio-nal orientation is determined with an accuracy of a few de-grees and the position is detected in the nanometer regime by comparing experimental excitation patterns with calculated patterns. Direct control of the quantum emitters in a tunable microresonator is shown for ? uorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Here, it is possible to switch reversibly bet-ween donor- and acceptor emission.
