Isogeometric Analysis of Fiber-Reinforced Materials - Scale Adaptivity and Delamination

von Nasim Najibeik, herausgegeben von Peter Wriggers
A scale adaptivity strategy is developed in order to selectively resolve the accurate responses according to higher gradients of material while the effective properties remains elsewhere unaltered. An adaptive mesh refinement is pursued followed by detecting the subdomains with high strain gradients to resolve the microstructure adaptively. Furthermore, the interfacial degradation, comprises debonding of fiber and matrix at the microscale and the delamination of two laminae at the mesoscale is modeled using a cohesive-contact NURBS-based numerical setting. To more elegantly retrieve the required geometrical accuracy and continuity of the shape functions, the novel isogeometric analysis framework is used. The represented model contributes a robust computational framework which can be applied on reinforced composites.
