Pioneers Shape the World of Technology

From the smallest beginnings to a university of World renown - in the 150 years of its existence the TUM has established – to its well-deserved credit – a success story that is unparalleled. Serving as the lifeblood thereof, there are people here who have studied, researched and taught – while to this day many of them continue to do so. There are luminaries such as Diesel, Linde and Mößbauer as well as researchers whose names are not so well known, who nevertheless have changed the world with their work. They have developed programing languages, invented infant milk, surveyed glaciers, reconstructed burnt faces, equipped satellites, researched elementary particles, built skyscrapers and much more. Brigitte Röthlein introduces them and shows how they were able to achieve such extraordinary accomplishments.
