Exploration of Hierarchical and Adaptive Alternatives for Communication Architectures in Trains for Brake-relevant Functions

von Michael Sollfrank
Existing communication architectures in trains do not provide train-wide availability of local sensor data. This work supports the systems development life cycle of a train-wide communication architecture. Therefore, a graphical domain-specific language for network specification is developed, a train simulation for functional design is realized, and container-based virtualization is used to scale test scenarios. Experiments, case studies, and industry experts confirm the applicability of the language, the time behavior of the simulation models, and the suitability of containers for testing.
