An art and research project on the economy of Mediterranean migration seeking to develop a discursive and visual representation of the growing complexity of North African mobility in relation to the European Union. The project is a collaboration between Swiss artists (Ursula Biemann, Charles Heller, Raphael Cuomo/Maria Iorio) and artists in Cairo (Hala Elkoussy, Doa Aly and Heba Farid) Tangier (Yto Barrada and Helena Moleno), media/design activists from Malaga (Observatorio Tecnologico) and photographer Armin Linke from Milan. In distinct but inter-related projects, the research members explore the matrix of the region which is increasingly marked by the progress of the cultural, economic and spatial transitions occurring in this post-migratory period.
