Silicon Non-Volatile Memories

This book provides a comprehensive overview of the differenttechnological approaches currently being studied to fulfill futurememory requirements. Two main research paths are identified anddiscussed. Different „evolutionary paths“ based on newmaterials and new transistor structures are investigated to extendclassical floating gate technology to the 32 nm node.„Disruptive paths“ are also covered, addressing 22 nmand smaller IC generations. Finally, the main factors at the originof these phenomena are identified and analyzed, providing pointerson future research activities and developments in this area.
