Person Franziska Frank

Franziska Frank was born in Munich, and attended boarding school in England from the age of 15. She went on to read history at Peterhouse, Cambridge, where her love of Russian literature inspired her to start learning Russian. After Cambridge she returned to Germany to study law, qualifying as a lawyer after two state exams. She wrote her doctoral thesis on Russian law. She worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Munich and Berlin for six years, and spent the next ten years as a full-time program director at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) Berlin, the leading business school in Germany. At ESMT Franziska designed training programs for executives from all over the world, and taught many of the topics covered in this book – from digital mindset, decision-making and motivation, to mindfulness and negotiation, to what every executive should know about the brain. Fascinated by the plasticity of the brain and the ability to be in the here and now she trained to be a mindfulness teacher (MBSR according to Jon Kabat-Zin) and runs workshops and courses about mindfulness. Since July 2016, she has combined her role as Affiliate Program Director for ESMT Berlin with freelance lecturing and speaking on how to how to better manage your family, relationships and career. She lives in Berlin with her husband and three children.
