Person Heiko Schmid

Heiko Schmid, geb. 1978, ist Kunsthistoriker. Er realisierte diverse Ausstellungs-, Vermittlungs- und Publikationsprojekte zu Themen wie künstlerische Materialitätsbegriffe, Medienkunst, zeitgenössische Installationskunst, Trash-Ästhetik, Theorien der Zeit, der Technik sowie des Weltraums. Er lebt und arbeitet in Zürich.

Heiko Schmid is a Art Historian. He studied Art History, Media Theory and Philosophy at Technical University of Berlin, University of Potsdam and Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (ZKM) - where he received a M.A. Degree. He holds a doctorate from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and is currently working as a Assistant Professor at the Master of Arts in Fine Arts course of studies at Zurich University of the Arts. He was involved in several exhibition, recherche and publication projects concerning themes like artistic visions of materiality, theories of time (with a focus on conceptions of the past and the future) / of technology as well as outer space conceived as a artistic „Möglichkeitsraum“.
