Kant-Index. Section 3: Index zum Corpus der vorkritischen Schriften. Band 41: Stellenindex und Konkordanz zu den ›Träumen eines Geistersehers‹

Whereas Kant’s writings in the early sixties were still focused on the consolidation of metaphysics, the ›Träume eines Geistersehers‹ (Dreams of a Spirit-Seer), published in 1766, marked a radical change in his perspective. Using a scathing criticism of rational psychology to represent his viewpoint, Kant brought about the downfall of the entire metaphysics. These were the first unmistakable hints of the ›Kritik der reinen Vernunft‹ (Critique of Pure Reason). The index shows in detail how this break with metaphysics and his turning to empiricism as a consequence of this was reflected in Kant’s language and vocabulary. This volume also concludes the lexical reappraisal of the main writings between 1762–1766, which means that all requirements have all been met in order to do a widespread reappraisal of the continuities and discontinuities in Kant’s philosophical development in the direction of critical philosophy on the secure basis of comprehensive linguistic findings.
