ortho Photocycloaddition of Aromatic Aldehydes - Lewis Acids as Control Element

Lewis acids are important additives in numerous reactions and can fundamentally change the reactivity of a compound class. In this thesis the influence of 1,3,2-oxazaborolidine-based Lewis acids on the enantioselective ortho photocycloaddition of phenanthrene-9-carboxaldehydes was investigated. In addition, it was shown that the reactivity of naphthaldehydes could be directed from carbonyl addition reactions to ortho photocycloadditions on the aromatic system by Lewis acids.
Lewis-Säuren sind wichtige Additive in zahlreichen Reaktionen und können die Reaktivität einer Verbindungsklasse grundlegend verändern. In dieser Arbeit wurde der Einfluss von 1,3,2-Oxazaborolidin-basierten Lewis-Säuren auf die enantioselektive ortho-Photocycloadditionsreaktion von Phenanthren-9-carboxaldehyden untersucht. Weiterhin wurde gezeigt, dass die Reaktivität von Naphthaldehyden durch Lewis-Säuren von Additionsreaktionen an der Carbonylgruppe auf ortho-Photocycloadditionsreaktionen an den Aromaten gelenkt werden konnte.
