Published in 1917 in Chicago, this work is the first in a series of publications from the AT Still Research Institute that represents a collaboration of Osteopathic teachers and writers. McConnell details disease processes outlined according to functional body system with the appropriate Osteopathic finding and treatment duly noted. A clinical and technical book written in medical language, this work is perfect for osteopathic students and medical professionals. McConnell emphasizes the need to follow good medical procedure with all patients including a good history and physical and relevant lab data. Within this framework, Osteopathic techniques can be employed to effect better outcomes with whatever disease process presents. Reflective of research advances at the time, McConnell addresses infectious disease based on known and unknown cause, and unlike other works of this sort published up to this time, he also includes a section on animal parasites.
